Know who is Justice Lalit ,How was the journey from Advocate to Chief Justice of India.

New Delhi :- Justice U.U. Lalit is a judge of the Supreme Court of India. On August 27, 2022, he is going to become the Chief Justice of the 49th Supreme Court of India.

Justice U.U. Lalit 49th Chief Justice of India . Their tenure is going to be 74 days.

Justice U.U. Lalit has practiced as a Senior Advocate in the Supreme Court,
Justice Lalit was directly elected as a judge of the Supreme Court by the senior advocate in the Supreme Court, From the Supreme Court Collegium in July 2014, he was appointed by Chief Justice J.S. Lodha and Pranab Mukherjee.

Chief Justice of India U.U. Lalit will retire on 8 November 2022 after assuming the office of the Chief Justice of India for 74 days as the 49th CJI.

Justice U.U. Lalit was born in U.R. He was born in Lalit’s family. U.R. Lalit was also associated with the legal profession. Lalit is a former Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court Nagpur Bench and a senior advocate practicing in the Supreme Court of India.

Justice U.U. Lalit joined the legal profession in June 1983 and started practicing in the Supreme Court of India in 1986. From 1986 to 1992, Lalit worked with former Attorney General of India, Soli Sorabjee, cases.

Justice U.U. Lalit as a Criminal Advocate Justice U U Lalit, who became famous, appeared in the country’s high-profile criminal cases, and his clients included many politicians and film stars.

Justice U.U. Lalit was appointed Special Public Prosecutor in 2011 for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in spectrum cases by a Supreme Court bench of Justices Singhvi and A.K Ganguly and observed that “In the interest of fair prosecution of the case, the appointment of UU Lalit very appropriate”.

Justice U. U. Lalit, while working as an advocate, has been observed to have patience in explaining legal questions and a calm demeanor in presenting the matter before the bench while advocating in criminal law cases.

On 10 January 2019, Justice Lalit recused himself from the five-judge bench set up by the Supreme Court to hear the disputed Ayodhya case.

Justice Lalit will succeed Justice CV Ramana to become the Chief Justice of the 49th Supreme Court of India on August 27, 2022.
