New Education Policy Approved By Government. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar (Union Minister Prakash Javadekar) said that the new education policy has been approved in the cabinet meeting today. Many big changes have been made in the new education policy, from school education to higher education. There will be a single regulator for higher education (except law and medical education). The target is to reach 50 percent GER by 2035.
Multiple entry and exit systems have been implemented. In today’s system, if after four years of engineering or 6 semesters, you cannot study further for any reason, then there is no solution, but after 1 year certificate, diploma after 2 years and 3-4 in multiple entry and exit system. Degree will be available after the year. This is a big decision in the interest of students.
The Secretary of School Education informed about the changes made regarding schools. He told that for the children of 6-9 years who are usually in 1-3 class, a national mission will be started so that children can understand basic literacy and numeracy. Specific 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 has been implemented for school education. Under this, a child of 3-6 years will study in the same way so that his foundation literacy and numeracy can be increased. After this, the introduction of the subject will be done in middle school ie 6-8 class. Fashion studies along with physics will also be allowed. Coding will be taught to children from class 6 onwards.
It was told in the press conference that there will be a 4-year degree program for those who want to go into research. Whereas those who want to get into jobs will do a three-year degree program. But those who want to go into research can do PhD after four years degree program with one year MA. For this, M.Phil will not be required.
