One person died in blast in Ludhiana court premises today.

New Delhi :- A large number of people were present at the premises of a court complex in Ludhiana, Punjab this afternoon. One person was killed and five were seriously injured in the blast. Recently there was a blast in Delhi’s District Court Rohini Court, no one was hurt in that blast. Chief Minister CharanJeet Channi condemned the blast in the Ludhiana court complex. Chief Minister Charanjeet Channi said that the blast was carried out to disrupt law and order in the city ahead of the assembly elections.

There was a lot of crowd in the court, work was going on. The blast took place at 12:22 pm inside a bathroom on the second floor of the building. The blast badly damaged the walls of the bathroom and shattered a part of the building as well as the windows of adjoining rooms.

Ludhiana Police Chief Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that one body has been recovered. He said, “Perhaps the person was carrying explosives or was very close to him. Those injured in the blast were pulled out of the building and police were trying to evacuate people from the premises. Two women and three men are among the injured.”.

Chief Minister Charanjeet Channi condemned the blast and urged people to remain calm. “Whoever tries to disturb the peace and harmony of the state, strict action will be taken against him,” he said.
