Supreme Court has dismissed Maratha reservation as unconstitutional

unconstitutional reservation

New Delhi :-  A constitution bench of the Supreme Court has dismissed Maratha reservation as unconstitutional for crossing the 50% limit. The Court held that there was no extraordinary circumstance justifying the granting of reservation to the Marathas as a socially and economically backward class to the extent of more than 50%. The Court held in the judgment, “Neither the Gaikwad Commission nor the High Court has made any position to cross the 50% reservation limit for the Marathas. Therefore, we find that there is no exaggeration to cross the limit. Not the situation. ”
